Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, welcome to the (bi) Weekly News Wrap-Up! As you know I've missed these an awful lot lately with the new school year and testing and my active participation in others areas of my life. Well, I do apologize, I do have a job to fulfill here and not doing it is wrong of me, even though real life will always come first. Anyway, here's my Spooky Scary Love Letter to you guys, as an apology and a good read. Enjoy!

'Outlast 2 Under Works' Red Barrels Confirms!

You've all played or heard of the horrifying indie game known as Outlast, following the story of (Desmond) Miles, a journalist investigating an asylum for the insane gone horribly wrong. Polygon.com reports that Red Barrels, the developers, are working on the sequel to the game officially. The developers described the new adventure as an emotional journey akin to the first, but with new characters and a new setting. Despite this, they hinted at a return to Mount Massive in the future. No release timeframe was revealed, but I'm sure we'll be seeing more of the game sometime soon, as a game like Outlast could easily become a large franchise with frequent releases.

Project Cars Releases Halloween Themed Trailer

If you've recently heard (shameless self promotion) I did an article on Project Cars being delayed to allow more time for work to be done on the game. Well, GameSpot.com showed off a spooky new trailer with a Halloween theme for the game, with some nicely improved visuals and overall frightening tone. The developers spoke of some parts of the trailer, stating that the trailer shows off how the game doesn't just have features in it that make it look spectacular, but prove useful gameplay wise. The game will release on March 20th, 2015 for the current generation consoles only, including the Wii U if you don't consider it 'current generation'.

Does this trailer excite you for the release of Project Cars if you're getting it? Debate!

MOBA League of Legends Getting Halloween Makeover

MOBA games like League of Legends with constant updates allow the developers to create themes for games that include actual gameplay altering effects. This year, League of Legends is releasing an update called 'The Harrowing', which they released a trailer to on YouTube.com. The update includes new skins for different characters, sadly only two new, but many old favorites returning. These skins will cost money, being microtransactions available in-game for different prices. As well, an old game mode called Hexakill will be back. The game follows two teams of six battling it out as a giant Spider circles them. The event is underway now, so if you have League of Legends you can go right into the game and see all of these new features.

Thanks for reading, if you've made it this far, you're either a coward and didn't read, or you have no emotions. Either way, be sure to like the article if you enjoyed it and stay tuned for more for me. The Cyan Age of Piracy is getting back to basics folks, you'll see soon.
