Popular Post The Director
Contests and Events Code of Conduct/Guidelines Okay, so this is the same CoC that you've come to know and love with some minor spelling and grammar changes. ---------------------------------------------------- i. Prerequisites ---------------------------------------------------- A: The following rules apply to OFFICIAL Community Events and Contests. B: Rules may change without notice. C: Overall, the Event Staff or Moderator decides if the rule breach deserves punishment. ---------------------------------------------------- 1: General Communications ---------------------------------------------------- A: Have fun. Self explanatory. B: Some events hosted are MEMBER ONLY events. This is to prevent any attendance overflow and make room for members. ---------------------------------------------------- 2: Lobby Boot ---------------------------------------------------- A: If you are caught misbehaving at anytime then you will be kicked. By attending OFFICIAL 343i Community Events, you are expected to follow the Code of Conduct. B: If you are doing something that is intended to ruin the game you will be kicked. This is to make sure the game run smoothly with no interruptions. C: You may be kicked by any "Event Staff" which may include Moderators, Event Staff members, Other Staff members, or members who have been deputized. You may also be kicked at any time for any reason. If you would like to appeal the decision to kick you, please message the Event Staff who kicked you. This is to let you know that even if you don't think you are breaking the rules, you may still be kicked depending on who is in charge of the kicking. Some people are just less forgiving. Staff Response This last part will be enforced by the Moderators and may result in disciplinary action up to and potentially including a permanent ban. ---------------------------------------------------- 3: Attendance and Event Sign-Ups ---------------------------------------------------- A: Some events are Sign-Ups only. These events are usually exclusive events which require Sign-Ups ahead of time, like tournaments. B: If you can't make an event don't sign-up for it. This is to leave slots available for other members. C: Please don't post saying you can't make it. This is to make it easier for those who are signing up and who have questions to get answers, as well as preventing people from post-boosting. Now THIS part is new. The Events Calendar is controlled by the staff members. Specifically, the Contests and Events staff members. They decide which events are added to the calendar and which events are not. This does NOT prevent you from creating your own events or contests in any way, however if you want your event added to the calendar or to be 'official', you have to speak to one of the events staff. Here's the calendar rules. 1. Once your event is added to the Events Calendar it becomes an official playdate/contest and the above CoC applies to it. 2. Whoever hosts your event will do so with the authority of the CoC. This allows them to pick and choose how much they want to enforce the CoC. This does not grant any special permissions on the forum, shoutbox, or anywhere other than in the event. 3. The decision to add your event to the calendar is completely up to the Events staff. Not the News Team, not the Community Moderators, and not anyone else. If you feel as if you are being picked on by the events staff, feel free to voice your concerns to the Community Moderators, but do NOT approach them asking for your event to be put on the calendar. 4. If your event conflicts with an already in place event, it is first come first serve for the calendar slot. There may be exceptions, but they will be few and far between. Exceptions will be granted ONLY with the original slot-holder's permission. 5. You must have both a title and an announcement thread for your event. You may not reserve a slot without a specific event. Here are the benefits of having your event on the calendar. 1. Those who participate in your event will receive the 'Gamer' award and any other applicable awards. 2. Your event will be noticed by more people, and so more people may join in. 3. You may request that an Event Staff member host it for you if your connection is bad. They can say no, but still. Here's what you need to tell a Contests and Events Staff Member to get an event/contest posted on the calendar. Name of Event: Just the title of your event. Like "Staff vs Members Playdate" Games and Platforms Event is held on: Which game(s) and platform(s) the event take place in. Like, "Halo MCC on the Xbox One" or "Minecraft on Xbox 360 and Xbox One" Date and Time of Event: When the event is taking place. Like "4/17/2015 at 12:57 am MST" Link to Announcement Thread: You need an announcement/sign up thread. So put a link here allowing the Staff to verify that it exists.

The Director
Lol already had to edit it. Included a bit more for the guidelines and added a template type of thing for requests.
Unease Peanut
What about the events that are currently on the calendar?
D-38 Boss
It's also worth noting, that if you'd prefer, you can have the Events staff make the announcement thread for you. So if you're not too good at babbling like an idiot, let a professional like me do it for you.
The Director
What about the events that are currently on the calendar? They get grandfathered in. Primarily due to laziness...
